Set a calendar to a task

By default, tasks are scheduled based on the project calendar (Project Calendar: The base calendar used by a project.).

To define unique or specific exceptions for working and nonworking time (nonworking time: Hours or days designated in a resource or project calendar when application should not schedule tasks because work is not done. Nonworking time can include lunch breaks, weekends, and holidays, for example.), a task calendar (task calendar: The base calendar that you can apply to individual tasks to control their scheduling, usually independent of the project calendar or any assigned resources' calendars. By default, all tasks use the project calendar.) can be created.

Assign a calendar to a task or to a recurring subtask

  1. On the View menu, click Gantt Chart.
  2. In the Task Name field, select the task to which you want to assign a calendar.
  3. Click Task Information, and then click the Advanced tab.
  4. In the Calendar box, click the calendar you want to use for the task.

Note  If you choose easy to set calendar for an task using method Insert Task Calendar column then select desired calendar.

Assign a calendar to a summary recurring task
  1. On the View menu, click Gantt Chart.
  2. In the Task Name field, select the summary recurring task to which you want to assign a calendar.
  3. Click Recurring Task Information.
  4. In the Recurring Task Information dialog box, click the calendar you want to assign to the recurring task in the Calendar box.

Note  If you choose easy to set calendar for an task using method Insert Task Calendar column then select desired calendar​​
