Other Settings

​Use the View tab in the Options dialog box to review, or change preferences. You can:

    Specify which screen elements are to be shown or hidden.

    View if external links are shown.

    View how currency information is to be displayed.

    View how outline information is to be displayed.

Show section

In this section it is specified which interface elements are displayed or hidden. These are global settings.

Status bar [1]   Displays the status bar, which shows information about the progress of certain operations. The status bar appears at the bottom of the window. By default, this check box is selected.

Scroll bars [1]   Displays scroll bars for views. Scroll bars are located at the right edge and bottom edge of scrollable panes. By default, this check box is selected.

Cross project linking options section

Use this section to view options for working with task dependencies between different projects.

Show external successors   Shows external successor tasks in the current project. If this check box is uncheck the external successors are hidden. By default, this check box is selected.

Show external predecessors   Shows external predecessor tasks in the current project. If this check box is uncheck external predecessors are hidden. By default, this check box is selected.

Show Links Between Projects dialog on open   Shows the Links Between Projects dialog box when the current project is opened if the current project has links to other projects. By default, this check box is selected.

Automatically accept new external data   Allows to accept and automatically update changes to task dependencies between projects. This option is unavailable if the Show Links Between Projects dialog on open check box is selected. By default, this check box is cleared.

Outline options section

Use this section to view outlining options. Outline options are local settings and apply only to the active project.

Indent name   Indents the names of subtasks in the Task Name column. By default, this check box is selected.

Show outline number   Displays the outline number next to each task name. By default, this check box is cleared.

Show outline symbol   Displays outline symbols next to each task name. Shows a plus sign next to rolled-up summary tasks and a minus sign next to summary tasks showing their subtasks. By default, this check box is selected.

Show summary tasks   Displays summary tasks. If you clear this check box, tasks that have subtasks are hidden from view. Note that you cannot use outlining commands when summary tasks are hidden. By default, this check box is selected.

Show project summary task   Specifies whether you want to display a project-level summary task. This task has an ID of 0. By default, this check box is cleared.

Options dialog box, General tab

Use the General tab in the Options dialog box to review, or change your preferences for the general .You can:

    View general options globally for application as a whole.

    View general options locally for the current project.

Global Project settings

Open last file on startup [1]   Automatically opens, upon starting application, the last project file that you used. When this check box is cleared,  the application starts empty. By default, this check box is cleared.

Recently used file list [x] entries [1]  Sets the number of recently opened project files that are listed at the bottom of the File menu. By default, the File menu lists the names of the last 9 project files opened.

User name   Displays the user name entered when program was installed. You can change the user name by typing a new name in this box.

Possible values for default task type are: Fixed Duration, Fixed Units and Fixed Work [1] .

View options for time units Minutes, Hours, Days, Weeks, Months and Years
